The reel’s tapered long stroke spool minimizes resistance, while the Slow Oscillation System further reduces friction when casting – and generates an exceptionally smooth line lay upon retrieve. To match the reel’s casting capabilities, underneath the Surf 8K’s light yet durable graphite body lies six stainless steel bearings and a quick-set anti-reverse for jaw-shattering hooksets. The rigid metal handle allows you to utilize the fast progressive drag system's 40 lbs of fish-stopping power to its full extent. Designed for maximum durability against corrosion, the Surf 8K features a Hydro Block gasket to protect the drag system, while the proprietary Cyclonic Flow Rotor Technology ushers all excess moisture out of the reel’s housing with a cyclone-like airflow.
